Job summary

A fantastic opening has become available for a Ward Sister Band 6, to work at the Bevan Intermediate Care Unit at Salford Royal Hospital.

This is an opportunity for an experienced registered nurse ready for the next step, with drive and ambition to help develop the service offered here on the unit.

You will support the unit managers to ensure high standards of care are delivered and to work towards achieving SCAPE status and lead others in the development of knowledge, ideas and work practice. You will plan, allocate, assess and provide feedback to team members and contribute to the development of services and contribute to quality improvement

You will monitor and maintain health, safety and security of self and others in own work area and maintain and support the efficient use of physical and /or financial resources.

You will be expected to balance clinical duties and take on management responsibilities acting as a role model or mentor for all staff on the unit. Patient needs and safety is a priority within the unit and you will be expected to ensure that you are approachable and communicate effectively to enable this to be consistently met.

Main duties of the job

You will establish and maintain effective communication with individuals and groups about difficult or complex matters overcoming any problems/barriers in communication and develop knowledge and practice in an area of work.

As a Band 6 you will be responsible for auditing of clinical practise, action plans devised and implemented for areas of concern and ensure shared learning within team.
