An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, registered nurse to join the Bury District Nursing Service as a Tissue Viability Nurse in Bury Community Services, part of the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual who is passionate about wound care and quality improvement.
The successful candidate will provide specialist advice, support, and education to patients and staff in the community setting and will demonstrate Tissue Viability knowledge and a proven interest in pressure ulcer prevention, management and wound care.
Main duties of the job
Bury Community Services, part of The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust has an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Tissue Viability Nurse Specialist to join our District Nursing Team. The Tissue Viability Nurse will provide expert advice and support to patients and staff in the Bury District Nursing Teams. The role involves supporting with the training of staff, patients, and carers in relation to tissue viability such as pressure ulcer prevention and management, surgical wounds, and leg ulcers.

The post holder will be part of the District Nursing and will support in maintaining standards of clinical care by working in close collaboration with other professionals.They will provide expert clinical advice, support, and education based on local and national guidelines and best practice recommendations in the community setting.

- Relevant post registration experience in Tissue Viability, e.g. link nurse
- Sound knowledge of leg ulcer / tissue viability aetiologies, management approaches, and dressings
- Current NMC Registration
- Substantial years' experience at band 5 within an acute or community setting
- Ability to travel to different geographical locations across the Trust footprint in line with service needs
