Main duties of the job

We have an exciting opportunity in our Lung Cancer Service, focusing on supporting individuals referred with suspected lung cancer.

In this vital role, you'll connect with patients who have undergone CT scans that show no malignancy. Your responsibilities will include conducting assessments via phone, delivering reassuring news about their diagnosis, and guiding them through the next steps with empathy and expertise. You will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth transition, whether that means providing information for further diagnostics within the lung service or discharging them back to their GP as directed by our multidisciplinary team (MDT).

Additionally, you'll be involved in the virtual surveillance of lung nodules under 1cm, adhering to The British Thoracic Society guidelines. Your tasks will include requesting CT scans, responding to findings, coordinating with the diagnostic MDT, and keeping patients informed about their results--all while referring them to appropriate services when necessary.

If you're ready to contribute to a supportive environment that prioritises patient care and enhances their journey through the healthcare system, we want to hear from you!
