Job summary

We are looking to employ a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse - School Nurse.

The post holder will work as part of a 5 - 19 years team in the Bury Community.

The School Nurse will be responsible and accountable for the operational and strategic management of a defined caseload.

You will be responsible for the delivery of high quality care following the Health Child Programme for children and young people aged 5 -19 years working as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The School Nurse will participate in the identification and safeguarding of vulnerable children and their families in partnership with other agencies.

The School Nurse will manage the development, implementation and compliance of policies, procedures, audit and benchmarks, including appraisal, personal development plans and clinical supervision.

Main duties of the job

To work corporately within a multi-agency arena to enable children and young people to reach their full potential (physically, emotionally and socially) through education and healthy lifestyles.

The job holder is responsible for developing, leading, planning and delivering a range of services for children and their families within a corporate caseload within a variety of settings.

Provide a public health based service that contributes to improving the health of children and their families in Bury through partnership working.

To ensure effective delivery of the Healthy Child programme.

To manage a safeguarding caseload including child protection.

Provide line management within the team.
