Job summary

NCA Lead Resuscitation Practitioner - 9 Month acting opportunity (cover maternity leave).

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 8a 9 month acting opportunity within an established and dynamic Resuscitation team.

As the Acting Lead Resuscitation Practitioner, you will establish a good working relationship with the four care organisations, effectively co-coordinating and managing the resuscitation service.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring a robust resuscitation service is provided across the Northern Care Alliance, and is safely resourced, providing appropriate support clinically, educationally, and managerially.

The Resus Lead will ensure that the service meets any statutory requirements from the CQC and NCA mandatory requirements in terms of robust and effective training provision, providing reliable data, timely audits and debriefs.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that staff are supported, skilled and developed to deliver high-quality cardiac arrest support, working in a collaborative manner, providing clear decision-making skills in consultation with the wider team, to achieve best outcomes for patients.

You will be expected to travel to any location within the Northern Care Alliance or its associated sites, where you may reasonably be required to work for the proper performance and exercise of your duties. The base can be at any of the four care organisations. A current driving license is essential.

Main duties of the job

Responsible for the strategic planning of Resuscitation training for all levels of staff from basic to advanced and ensuring the trust has the support required to deliver safe Resus practice across the four care organisations.

Provide trust wide leadership, expert knowledge, and advice around evidence-based Resuscitation Practices.

Contribute to relevant national information, policies, guidelines and procedures that may impact on service to the attention of relevant staff.

To reduce risk and improve patient safety.

Develop clinical protocols as a member of the multidisciplinary team.

To provide support and leadership to all members of the Resuscitation team.

To act as the main resource for specialist advice, effectively communicating with the members of the multi-disciplinary team and reporting to executive teams as required.

You must have thorough knowledge of the current Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines and proven experience in delivering advanced resuscitation training is essential.

Ensure representation at the NCA Resuscitation group on behalf of the Resus team.
