Job summary

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with experience of working with patients in a health, social or customer care setting.

You will be an essential part of a large team of therapists based at Fairfield General Hospital. The role will involve working on the inpatient wards.

The department is currently developing an integrated approach to acute rehabilitation and as such you will work closely with physiotherapists and occupational therapists on a daily basis. You will be supported by a team which takes a proactive and innovative approach to continuous professional development, evidence based practice and service development.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant needs to be enthusiastic and motivated to support the inpatient therapy team with timely assessments and discharges and in doing so, be responsible for providing support work to aid the rehabilitation of patients. You will be dynamic in assisting with the treatment of patients ensuring appropriate pathways of care are followed, as well as demonstrating communication skills via liaison with other agencies as required.

Within this role you will work as part of the acute medical team based on the Fairfield General hospital site, as part of Bury Care Organisation, delivering a range of treatment programmes and will have the ability to manage a delegated caseload. This will include gaining experience on the fast-paced acute medical unit, as well as the acute medical wards, working as part of the wider multi-disciplinary team.
