This role will be extremely well supported by the Lead nurse and the established senior nursing team. The role will will work closely with ED Staff , the NCA specialist safeguarding team police, social care and community services

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be an advocate for both adults at risk and Children attending the Emergency Department . The post holder will be based in the Emergency Department. The post holder will support patients who attend the department on a repeated basis by facilitating multidisciplinary devised care plans. The post holder will support vulnerable persons attending the Emergency Department on a regular basis.
The post holder will support embedding the Emergency Departments' safeguarding responsibilities. The post holder will work closely with ED Staff , the NCA specialist safeguarding team police, social care and community services.
As an integral part of the Departments safeguarding response the post holder will be an advisory resource, and support for staff. The post holder will ensure that all Emergency Department staff are aware of their safeguarding responsibilities and applicable level of training based on their role; signposting staff to relevant training resources with advice and support provided by NCA Specialist Safeguarding team. The post holder will support the clinical teams in the Emergency Department in a patient facing role.

The post holder will work in partnership with clients, their families / carers, and other professionals/agencies, to provide support for vulnerable persons attending ED.
As an integral part of the ED the post holder will provide an advisory resource, support, and supervision for ED staff. The post holder will ensure the ED safeguarding training requirements continue to be delivered in accordance with the agreed NCA Safeguarding training programmes
This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as an Registered Nurse or Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC PIN within the next 3 months. Please note an NMC PRN PIN is not a full NMC PIN and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.
