Job summary

We are recruiting a Medical Engineering Manager to work across all sites of the NCA. You will work closely with other 8a Managers to deliver safe systems to comply with statutory and regulatory requirements supporting innovation for the NCA sites.

As a member of the wider medical device service function you will provide strong leadership to the medical engineers and blend the work of that team to develop robust governance. You will promote good working practice, minimise equipment downtime and assist in improving standards of medical equipment management.

You will be capable of interacting with staff at all levels to discuss and agree processes to improve management of devices throughout their lifecycle.

The right candidate will have an engineering background and graduate or post graduate skills and knowledge associated with medical engineering workshop practices. Equally though, the appointee will have a wide understanding of the direct impact of the department's work on the patient and clinical teams. As such the role requires someone with demonstrable leadership skills and experience who welcomes change and challenge and can support innovative and evolving delivery models.

Main duties of the job

As a professional manager and leader, accountable for the direct delivery of a clinical technical service, the post holder will provide a modern and efficient Medical Engineering function to the Trust, complying with statutory regulations and Trust Policies.

The post-holder's function will be to deliver a modern, customer focused technical service for medical equipment and manage a responsive, efficient and cost-effective department. This is a pivotal role in ensuring consistent, clinical excellence in the availability, adoption and use of medical technology. The role involves close working with other medical device service team managers to meet key goals and objectives.
