Job summary
SCO has a vacancy for a Consultant Radiologist with an interest to develop or prior experience in Urological cross-sectional imaging. An interest in practicing or developing sub-specialty intervention is welcomed but is not essential. This is a new post with the candidate helping to support and develop the sub-specialty Uroradiology service along with the current team of 3 substantive Consultants. The successful candidate would be expected to participate in sub-specialty MDTs, and also contribute to the general work of the department including the general diagnostic radiology on call, currently 1 in 12.
The post holder is required to have full registration with the General Medical Council & a valid licence to practice and be on the specialist register for Radiology or be within 6 months of CCT or equivalent at the time of interview. Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be a radiologist with particular interest in Urological imaging. Interest in intervention is welcome but not essential. The successful candidate will have a primary base at Salford Care Organisation, although sessions may be required at other sites.
The successful candidate will contribute to the general diagnostic work of the department, including on call which is Specialist Trainee led with Consultant supervision. This service (currently 1 in 12) is between 5pm to 9:30pm (Mon-Thur). The weekend service is 5-7pm (Fri) and 9am to 5pm (Sat-Sun). Overnight outsourcing is in place until 9am 7 days a week. Home workstations are provided to all consultants for protected daytime reporting, flexible working and remote review of on call imaging. There are separate diagnostic and interventional Neuroradiology on call rotas to cover all aspects of acute Neuroradiology. Consultants are expected to provide prospective cover for annual and study leave.
The post holder will be expected to work closely with other consultants and members of the wider multi-disciplinary team to support and develop services.
