Job summary
We have an opportunity for a Senior Pharmacist to join our forward thinking, dynamic and patient focussed Homecare Team.
We welcome applications from motivated and driven Pharmacists with excellent clinical and communication skills. You must be efficient, organised, able to work as a team and autonomously and also be innovative and resourceful.
It is an exciting role that will require interaction with a variety of people, including patients, clinical teams, finance teams and third party businesses to develop new skills at an operational level in addition to specialist clinical skills in Rheumatology and Gastroenterology.
Main duties of the job
To manage the development of homecare services throughout the Trust in line with the Department of Health's strategy "Homecare Medicines: Towards a vision for the future with a focus on Rheumatology and Gastroenterology treatments.
To promote the cost effective use of biologics used in Rheumatology and Gastroenterology by supporting the individual patient review of compliance with NICE/GMMMG Harmonised pathways.
To ensure that there is a robust clinical and financial governance framework for the approval of treatments including Payment by Results drug exclusions.
To ensure maximum cost effectiveness in the use of Rheumatology and Gastroenterology high cost drugs including Payment by Result drug exclusions
To deliver high quality patient focused clinical pharmacy service within designated specialities
