Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist, to work within the Heywood Middleton and Rochdale Community Stroke Team. We are looking for an experienced and well organised individual with highly developed skills within stroke care. You will need to be enthusiastic, motivated and an appropriately experienced practitioner in stroke rehabilitation. You will need to be a registered Occupational Therapist whom can demonstrate your commitment, enthusiasm and drive to develop your own clinical, managerial and team working skills within the service.You must be able to communicate effectively at all levels, work autonomously and be able to demonstrate effective teamwork. You will provide high quality care in an appropriate and timely manner which is responsive to patients need whilst adhering to recognised policies and guidelines.

You will be supported through regular team meetings, 1-1 sessions, ongoing education with access to a professional team of nurses, AHPs and consultants to provide mentorship and support.A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.

Consideration will be given to part time working subject to the needs of the service, minimum 30 hours per week.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for providing specialist complexmulti-factorial clinical assessments, Occupational Therapy treatment and advice to stroke clients in the community as part of the Stroke Early supported discharge team within the Community Stroke Service.

The individual will manage a clinical caseload of clients, including those with complex and highly complex needs with support from the band 7 Occupational Therapist for highly complex patients andsupervise the band 4/3 support staff with caseload management
