Job summary

Due to continued innovation and development of Pharmacy services at Fairfield General Hospital and Rochdale Infirmary we are delighted to be able to advertise this post.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant looking to take the next step and develop their career in technical services.

The post holder will supervise the Pharmacy Dispensers and will be responsible for trouble shooting and maximising efficiency in the dispensary at both Fairfield and Rochdale. You will be involved in the training of Dispensers, stock control and ensuring that medication is dispensed accurately and delivered on time to wards and departments.

Main duties of the job

You must be competent in all dispensary-based activities, and work to the high standards set within the Pharmacy Department.

You must be able to prioritise your workload, use initiative, work under pressure, meet deadlines and be committed to the delivery of high standards in a patient focused service.

The post offers an attractive salary, and 27 days holiday (plus Bank Holidays) per year.

There will be a requirement to participate in extended hours, working late nights, weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis.

  • NVQ 2 in Pharmacy Services or 4 GCSE's at grade C or above , 2 of which must include English and Maths . If not gained prior to appointment qualification at NVQ level 2 is essentail for the post

  • Able to work quickly and accurately under pressure
  • Able to organise daily team tasks
