The Scheduled Care Directorate at the Bury Care Organisation are looking to appoint a Consultant Anaesthetist on a permanent basis to join our growing team at Fairfield General Hospital (FGH). You will play a central role in both the delivery of safe, efficient and effective patient care; and in leading on-going improvements in anaesthetic, pre-op and theatre services.
Main duties of the job
The post offers a 10 PA contract primarily to cover theatre work during the week dependent on the requirements of the service at FGH. The post also includes on-call duties and pre-operative assessment clinic cover. While routine cover will be at the FGH site, there may be an expectation to occasionally work at other sites within the North East Sector
We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic candidates who can demonstrate:
- they have been on the specialist register for anaesthesia or have a reasonable expectation of achieving this within six months
- Expertise in regional anaesthesia is essential
- Expertise in performing upper and lower limb blocks also essential
-Current APLS and ALS certificates
