We are excited to be recruiting for an 8B Clinical Neuropsychologist/Clinical Psychologist in Neuropsychology as a part of the Major Trauma and Traumatic Brain Injury Neuropsychology service. The inpatient and outpatient neuropsychology provision at Salford Royal is well-established, valued, and expanding, and we are thought of as dynamic, supportive, and fun team to be a part of.
To be employed at an 8B level, the successful applicant will have completed the Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) in Clinical Neuropsychology. We would also be happy, however, to receive applications from clinicians who have passed their first year of the PGDip and are ongoing with their second year. If successful, they would be appointed on an 8B preceptorship basis, and paid as a Band 8A until completion of the PGDip and successful demonstration of core competencies for an 8B role, assessed via portfolio.
Should the successful applicant wish to pursue the Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology (QiCN) supervisory support and access to appropriate cases is routinely available as a part of the role.

The Department of Clinical Neuropsychology at Salford Royal is one of the largest neuropsychology services in the country, and has clinicians working across inpatient, outpatient, and community services. Main duties of the job
The post holder will hold service lead responsibilities for the outpatient traumatic brain injury (TBI) service and will lead on the management and development of this service under the supervision of the Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist for Major Trauma. The post holder will also provide dedicated, specialist clinical neuropsychology input as a part of the acute major trauma and major trauma rehabilitation wards as well as providing outpatient neuropsychology appointments. This includes providing direct and indirect support for patients, families, and MDT members. This might include one-to-one work, joint work, group work, consultation-based practice, reflective spaces, and formulation meetings, for example.
Providing clinical supervision and line management for Assistant Psychologist(s) and Psychological Wellbeing Assistant(s) within the Major Trauma Psychology/TBI service.
Developing education and training resources for patients, families, and staff alongside neuropsychology colleagues, MDT members, and service users.
Engaging in service development and research, supported by the Department and its resources.
Delivering teaching and offering placements/projects for regional DClin courses (e.g. Manchester, Liverpool, Lancaster, Sheffield) as able.
