This is an exciting opportunity to support our International Nurse Recruitment project as a Practice Trainer for International Nurses across The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (Oldham, Bury, Rochdale and Salford)
We are looking for an enthusiastic and resilient high performing individual to join our education team. You must be a registered nurse with a teaching/mentorship qualification and have a supporting portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your achievements in education. You must have experience of teaching and assessing clinical skills competencies within the clinical setting. There is an expectation that the post holder will be flexible in their working hours to suit the needs of the service and must be able to work across our four Care Organisations (four hospital sites - when required).
The international training programme is an essential resource, that trains pre NMC registered nurses from all over the world, in preparation for their OSCE and becoming registered staff within the NCA.
The international training team is part of the wider clinical skills team, which is responsible for delivering clinical training to the Trust's workforce across all four care organisations.
Main duties of the job
We are recruiting a Practice Trainer to support the delivery of clinical training to international nurses joining our organisation. For a period of 6 months as either a secondment or fixed term contract.
The post holder will provide education and training to learners. This will include the delivery of education and training programmes which incorporate mandatory training, clinical skills and enhanced skills development across the Trust.
In particular they will design, prepare, deliver and evaluate the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) training to overseas nurses, ensuring a co-ordinated and standardised approach. They will also work closely with the pastoral care team for international nurses.
This will be an opportunity for self -development in leading change and team management. You will be expected to work in collaboration with ward/unit managers/practice educators and clinical teams and maintain a good working partnership. You must be committed to a high standard of patient care and safety. You will have a flexible attitude to work and be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
