2023 see's the opening of our brand new state of the art Major Trauma Hospital designed to meet the needs of patients from across the whole of Greater Manchester providing specialist trauma care for people with life threatening/ changing injuries.
The will role give you exposure to multi-system injuries and acute medical conditions as well as supporting you to build a rewarding and challenging career. Opportunity for CPD/ self development is a key team ethos and you will be strongly supported from across the whole team in achieving the four pillars of Advanced Practice.Central to delivering care, you will need to have demonstrable rapid clinical assessment and reasoning skills. As a senior practitioner you will supervise others, co-ordinate/ manage care & participate in audit & research. Whilst experience in Major Trauma is not essential, a good team ethic and an interest in Major Trauma is and we would welcome applications from across all specialities and disciplinesYou will need to have an MSc in Advanced Practice and hold, or be willing to undertake, a non -medical prescribing qualification. You will be highly motivated and innovative with a vision to drive forward future developments in the Major Trauma ACP role.
Main duties of the job
You will form part of the Major Trauma team, contributing towards a 7 day week service, providing clinical assessment and support to the care and treatment of a diverse and undetermined caseload of patients requiring Major Trauma care, who may have highly complex acute presentation from the very sick, seriously ill or injured patient to the more minor common illnesses and injuries.
You will determine clinical diagnosis and treatments indicated, and maintain records as an autonomous practitioner. You will provide clinical expertise for developing and enhancing the service. This will be done in collaboration with medical, nursing and allied health professional colleagues.
You will ensure that evidence based practice is inherent in all aspects of care and treatment and ensure this knowledge is disseminated throughout the clinical area, Trust and externally as appropriate.
