Job summary

The Lead Nurse will support the Directorate Management Team to provide line managerial support and clinical leadership to teams within theatre.

They will support teams with the day-to-day delivery of clinical standards of care and the management of the nursing workforce, in accordance with set objectives, targets, quality standards, controls and resource constraints, that ensures the delivery of a high quality, patient centred service that meets patient need.

The lead nurse is expected to be a highly visible individual who is able to influence across the wider organisation at all levels of seniority and they will support the Assistant Director of nursing by deputizing and ensuring the effective running of the department in their absence.

They will be responsible for ensuring all care is delivered according to Trust policies and procedures utilising clinical audit, research and supervision of practice. They will support teams in the management of recruitment, appraisal, Continuing Professional Development and performance.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking an experienced nurse leader to bring enthusiasm and positive energy to our excellent clinical teams.

The successful candidate will have the ability to recognise and support the talents of others and lead their team and the division in the delivery of an exemplary standard of care.

About us

Rochdale Care Organisation has a bright future ahead of it. Within the Division of Planned Care an opportunity has arisen for a secondment as the Assistant Director of Nursing Services (ADNS) managing our nursing teams within that Division. Planned care Division has a major focus on the elective surgical pathways in place through Rochdale including both main theatre and Ophthalmology pathways. The Division is diverse though and also contains outpatients and rheumatology specialities.

As a member of the senior nurse leadership team the post holder will be responsible for leading their teams on a day to day basis and supporting innovative and forward thinking care at what can only be described as a major turning point in the quality and accessibility of healthcare offered across the community.
