Job summary

To support colleagues within the Palliative and End of Life Care team to meet key objectives for the administration, including data handling for the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the Palliative Care Service.

Main duties of the job

  • To support colleagues in meeting departmental objectives with responsibility for the administration and data entry for the Palliative Care Team
  • To provide a comprehensive secretarial and administrative service to the consultants, ADNS for Palliative and End of Life Care and his / her clinical team

  • Excellent word processing and typing skills.
  • A good understanding of Microsoft Office, including excel.
  • Experience of creating excel data collection forms, inputting and collating data
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Ability to organise work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to communicate with people at all levels.
  • Excellent telephone manner including good listening skills.
  • Ability to respect patient confidentiality and conform with systems to safeguard patient data
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the Trust's values and behaviours
