An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 6 Specialist Paediatric Audiology Practitioner to join Salford Audiology Service for 12 months Maternity Leave Cover.
This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic, proactive, dynamic and forward thinking individual to join Salford Paediatric Audiology Service.
Salford Audiology Service is a multi-site integrated service, which is provided across Acute, Community and Educational settings. We provide a full range of Adult and Paediatric Audiology Services, including NHSP, Diagnostics and Rehabilitation, Baha, Comprehensive Vestibular Assessment, Hearing Therapy and Learning Disability Service.
The Paediatric Audiology Service is a non-consultant led service and clinically led by Paediatric Clinical Principal.
Ability to attend multiple locations across the community setting in Salford is essential.
Main duties of the job
The Practitioner will be required to work autonomously undertaking new and follow-up Paediatric audiological assessments of pre-school and school age children on Audiology led Clinics, following referral from professionals and formulating individualised care plans.
Previous experience of ABR and electrophysiological assessment following referral from the newborn hearing screening program would be beneficial.
The role will include hearing aid rehabilitation, liaising with Teacher of the Deaf.
You will work under direct and indirect supervision of the Paediatric Clinical Principal to support service and staff development .
You will be required to demonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills. You will have a flexible and adaptable approach to your work load.
For this post you will be qualified to BSc (Hons) / MSc / STP Audiology or equivalent BAA Part I and II and you should be registered with RCCP and eligible to work within the UK. Evidence of higher training in Paediatric Audiology is desirable.
