Are you a passionate, motivated nurse looking to develop specialist skills in a dynamic and supportive environment? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our friendly vascular surgery team at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital.

Our Vascular Unit provides comprehensive vascular services for around 1 million people in Norfolk and the Waveney area. We work collaboratively within a vascular network alongside the James Paget Hospital in Gorleston, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kings Lynn, and the Cromer Hospital outpatients clinics. With approximately 40% of vascular presentations occurring as emergencies, our service is fast-paced, varied, and clinically rewarding.

The role provides training in advanced vascular assessment and treatment, e.g. Ankle Brachial Pressure Index Measurement (ABPI), compression bandaging application, complex wound management, surveillance of vascular surgical procedures, management of long-term vascular conditions such as intermittent claudication and amputee support.

Main duties of the job

The vascular Clinical Nurse Specialist works autonomously at an advanced clinical level, delivering high-quality care and making informed treatment decisions based on a comprehensive assessment of patients with vascular conditions.

As a key member of our vascular specialist nursing team, you will:o Provide expert care, advice, and education to patients and their familieso Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues across hospital and community settingso Contribute to service development and champion evidence-based practiceo Support patients throughout their vascular journey, from diagnosis to long-term management

The post holder will also support Consultants with day-to-day clinical activity and lead nurse-run vascular clinics at NNUH and off-site locations.
