The NNUH Private Patients Service is seeking to recruit an experienced and innovative administrator within the Private Patients Team. As a Private Patient Administrator you will join a small and friendly team working closely with our clinical staff ensuring we offer a high standard of customer service at all times. This role is for an individual interested in working alongside a supportive team that values hard work and invests in its people. The role will require a level of independent working in relation to our outpatient and Inpatient bookings process, where you will be required to work within a busy, face-paced environment.

Main duties of the job
As postholder, you will patients, consultants, referrers and external providers such as insurance companies as well as staff members across all other departments within the wider Trust to provide them with world class care customer service. An impeccable telephone and email manner and confidence in dealing with people at all levels are essential. You should be a team player, meticulous, detail oriented and enthusiastic with the ability to work in a challenging and changing environment.

Job responsibilities
Provide a high standard of administrative support across outpatients, inpatients and radiology/diagnostics to ensure all relevant bookings processes and pathways are upheld, delivering high quality service to all of service users at all times
Consistently liaise with Finance team to accurately quote self-pay private care episodes and to ensure that private medical insurance cover is authorised for insured patients.
Use prioritisation and negotiation skills proactively manage requests to ensure that urgent and inpatient requests are actioned within the necessary.
Whenever needed, the post holder will liaise with private medical insurance companies and communicate clinical details regarding patients to facilitate and secure financial cover and funding for the care episode.
Manage shared inboxes, handling all queries, bookings and ad-hoc requests; ensuring requests are dealt with in a timely efficient manner and communication to stakeholders is clear.
Answer telephone calls/emails and deal with enquiries in a helpful and courteous manner, use initiative and discretion or direct the call to the appropriate staff member.
