Job summary

A rare opportunity has arisen for a passionate, dedicated, enthusiastic and innovative individual, who may already be in a Band 7 position or is a Band 6 with a desire for progression, to become the next Senior Sister/ Charge Nurse of Mattishall Ward.

Mattishall Ward is a 38 bed Endocrinology & Diabetes Specialist ward, plus General Medicine, under the direct management of the Matron & Service Director for Endocrinology, and leadership of Care Group H Triumvirate.

You will work closely with the Matron, Service Director, and Nursing Team to provide a safe environment where patients receive quality care to the standards required to achieve Gold Ward Accreditation.

Main duties of the job

The Ward/Department Manager will lead and work as part of the Ward/Department team, providing professional leadership and management within the work environment. The post holder will be accountable and responsible for the standards of care provided within the ward/department and for leading, supporting and implementing innovative practice.

The post holder will provide direct patient care, demonstrating specialist knowledge and act as a resource and role model for the clinical team. To work in liaison with other Senior Nurses/Department Managers and the Assistant Director of Nursing to implement Directorate/Divisional service plans.
