Senior Clinical Fellow in Plastic Surgery

The closing date is 08 July 2025

Job summary

Applications are invited for a fixed term full time Senior Clinical Fellow Post (STR3+ Equivalent) in response to Service need for a period of one year commencing as soon as possible. The post is at Specialty Registrar level.

A candidate who is unable for personal reasons to undertake the duties of a whole-time post will receive equal consideration. If such a candidate is appointed the job content will be modified as appropriate in consultation with consultant colleagues and local management.

We welcome all applications irrespective of age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, race or religion. Additionally, people with disabilities will be offered an interview providing they meet the minimum criteria for the post. The Trust operates job share and flexible working.

Main duties of the job

The appointee will gain a broad experience of Plastic Surgery. It is expected the duties and working hours will be divided equally into three categories;

  • Inpatient and emergency patient care.
  • Theatre experience - assisting complex cases and undertaking straightforward cases (LA and GA).
  • Outpatient clinic - usually supervised by senior colleagu

The successful candidate would usually occupy a slot on the on call rota. However, on occasion when we get a full complement of Specialty Registrars from the deanery the post is supernumerary and in this instance the candidate will be asked to fill gaps in the on call rota due to absence from LTFTTs etc.
