Fixed term contract/ secondment to 31 December 2025*
Reporting to the Head of Resourcing, you will be joining a team of motivated professionals, dedicated to supporting the needs of over 8,500 staff.
As the Head of HR Operations and Corporate Policy, you will be an integral member of the HR leadership team. We are a supportive team and we are interested in you, and the values, behaviours and culture that you can bring to the team and the wider Trust.
We are seeking an experienced, HR Practitioner to lead the HR Operations Team who provide a central employee relations service to our leaders across the Trust. They will provide expert advice to enable line managers to build their capability and confidence in getting the best from the colleagues they manage and provide advice in the application of policy and practice where issues may arise.
As the leader, you will deliver people centred focus on creating and implementing a specialised employee relations to enable best practice people management, with the Trust's 'know your staff' principles.
This role will be office based for the first three months, moving to hybrid working with a minimum of one day in the office per week.

Main duties of the job
You will have a competent and coaching leadership style which is consistent with the Trust values and leadership framework and have the ability to evaluate risk and problem solve to find practical solutions to employee relations matters. You will be highly experienced in all aspects of employee casework, with a strong knowledge of employment law and its practical application to complex cases.
You will work closely with the HR Business Partnering Team to continuously improve our employee relations service, support our staff and delivery of the Trust's People Promise Commitments in all that we do. You will also work closely with the learning and organisational development team to build the people management capability and leadership skills across the organisation.
You will play a pivotal role in the development of organisational policies, ensuring they are up to date with legal and best practice whilst meeting our organisational values. You will also have experience and knowledge of the equality, diversity, and inclusion requirements of a public sector organisation.
You will act as a confidante to senior managers, contributing to the early and proactive resolution of potential workforce and service issues and where you will have the ability to influence, challenge and support service delivery and people strategies.
