An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Administration Manager to join our team in the Trauma and Orthopaedic department. This is a busy department comprising of surgical pre-assessment, outpatient clinics and wards. Our aim is to put patients first in an area of the highest quality of care. Alongside the nursing and medical teams, the administrative team ensures the department runs smoothly, effectively and acts as a reliable point of contact along a patient's pathway. As part of this large and friendly team you'll be expected to maintain a high level of the patient-focused care we aim to deliver for our patients.

Main duties of the job
Working with the Operational Manager and Administration Manager to ensure co-ordination of all directorate activity. The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the administrative staff, ensuring the smooth running of the department in relation to its administration functions.
To ensure that all administrative processes run smoothly and efficiently and that all departmental processes and procedures are adhered to.

1. Ensure adequate administration/ secretarial cover. Monitor the staff workloads and allocate work according to staffing levels and adjust these during periods of sickness or unexpected changes in workload.
2. To add patients from Outpatient Clinics to the Waiting List adhering to the Trusts policies & procedures.
3. To deal with patients who are emotionally distressed in a sensitive and professional manner.
4. To assist patients and their carers by arranging Interpreter/Sign facilities via INTRAN.
5. To deputise in the absence of the Administration Manager and provide front-line administration support when required to ensure adequate support within the Directorate.
