Job summary
The Jenny Lind Children's Hospital, NNUH, is seeking one substantive 8PA consultant in paediatric respiratory medicine. The successful appointee will help shape the developments of this well-established unit and support the East of England CF network and regional respiratory services. The post comprises of 8PA of which 1.25 SPA and 6.75PAs of clinical work. The clinical work will include specialized cystic fibrosis and respiratory work.
We encourage applicants who have completed their national sub-speciality grid/ SPIN/equivalent training in paediatric respiratory medicine
Main duties of the job
The appointee will provide inpatient and outpatient care for patients with respiratory disease. The appointee may not be expected to have any on call commitment to acute paediatric medicine. There is currently no sub-specialty on-call cover included in this post, although a more regional approach may be developed in the future.

- Full GMC
- MRCPCH or equivalent
- On the specialist register (CCT in paediatrics OR Equivalent) at or within 6 months of the AAC
Desirable
- Higher degree such as MD, MSc or PhD.
- CCT in respiratory paediatrics
Experience

- Applicants who are Nationals from another European country or elsewhere overseas would have to show equivalence to the 5 years training period in the National Health Service required for the specialty.
- Demonstrable knowledge and commitment to a career in paediatric respiratory medicine.
- 2 years paediatric respiratory training or experience in a tertiary centre (candidates with GRID/SPIN or equivalent are encouraged to apply).
- Competent at management of inpatients and outpatients with respiratory conditions or CF
- EPLS or APLS certification
- Training to level 3 safeguarding and experience of safeguarding at Specialist Registrar or Consultant level.
