Job summary

We are looking for an inspirational and dynamic leader who can bring positivity and energy to the role of Sister within our Ophthalmic Outpatients department, to support the development of services which focus on quality and efficiency in our busy department.

The postholder will be accountable and responsible for the standards of care provided within the OPD and for leading, supporting and implementing innovative practice.

Ophthalmic Outpatients is based on two sites, at the NNUH and in the Central Norwich Eye Clinic, based at Grove Road Clinic in Norwich City Centre.

Main duties of the job

The Sister / Charge Nurse will lead and work as part of the Ward/Department team, providing professional leadership and management within the work environment. The post holder will be accountable and responsible for the standards of care provided within the ward/department and for leading, supporting and implementing innovative practice.

The post holder will provide direct patient care, demonstrating specialist knowledge and act as a resource and role model for the clinical team. To work in liaison with other Senior Nurses/Department Managers and the Assistant Director of Nursing to implement Directorate/Divisional service plans.
