This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join the Urology department, working within our experienced and friendly Administrative Urology Cancer Team.
The successful candidate will be able to facilitate the management of patients within the Urology Cancer Service, working with a larger team both clinical and administrative to facilitate the support of these patients through their pathway, compiling documentation for weekly MDTs, and remaining a point of contact for the clinical team regarding the Urological Cancer Care Pathway.
Main duties of the job
The Urology MDT Coordinator role is crucial to the functioning of the Urological cancer service, providing the administrative function for the Urology Cancer MDT meeting, which is an essential component of the cancer services within Urology, and includes but is not limited to: Compiling all patients to be discussed, coordinating and attending the MDT meeting, actioning the MDT outcomes, booking appointments for patients, and ensuring patients are swiftly moved along in their pathway.

1. Arrange the weekly MDT meeting; ensure appropriate venue and equipment available.
2. To work closely with clinicians, specialist nurses, secretaries and all members of the Multi Disciplinary Team (MDT) and associated departments to ensure that patients on a cancer pathway are actively managed through the patient pathway.
3. In response to Government Network / Local strategy initiate change within services in collaboration with the Cancer manager and Clinical lead.
4. In collaboration with the Clinical Lead, take responsibility for collection and submission of accurate date for National Clinical Audits
5. To demonstrate excellent communication skills. To ensure effective liaison between all members of the multi-disciplinary team and with other Trusts, GP practices, patients and carers
6. To update the Patient Administration System (PAS) in line with the Trusts policies and procedures on real time data collection and confidentiality.
