Main duties of the job

The Urology department at Norwich University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking to appoint a Fellow in Endourology and Benign prostate disease based at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital (NNUH). The programme is set for the academic year 2024/2025 and will run for 12 months. We aim to deliver a comprehensive training programme in modern stone management. We are a high volume centre providing PCNL, on site emergency ESWL and ureteroscopy as surgical options for complex stone management. We have the ability to train in PCNL access with Endourology Consultants providing flouroscopy and USS guided access. We work closely with our Paediatric Surgical colleagues across established MDT's, to also provide a Paediatric stone service. There is also the opportunity to be trained in a range of BPH procedures (HoLEP, Aquablation, and MIST procedures) that are well established within the department. There is exposure to theatres and endoscopy sessions on a regular basis where hands on training will be given. It is ideally suited to anybody who would like to pursue a career in urology whilst developing Endourology skills and envisage that this fellowship will equip the appointee with the skills required to establish themselves as a Urology Consultant with a special interest in Endourology.
