Job summary
This a replacement, full time Specialty Doctor in Urology appointment within the Norfolk and Waveney Urology service in response to service requirements, providing care across three Acute Trusts. The main base for this post will be The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King Lynn.
Initially, this is a 12 month fixed term post.
A candidate who is unable for personal reasons to undertake the duties of a whole-time post will receive equal consideration. If such a candidate is appointed the job content will be modified as appropriate in consultation with consultant colleagues and local management.

Main duties of the job
ClinicalTo provide management of in-patients and out-patients for elective and emergency cases.To help reduce waiting lists in both out-patient and operating lists.To contribute to meeting the Surgical Divisions objectives.
OrganisationalTo undertake appropriate projects and administration as required by the department.
Clinical GovernanceTo provide clinical services in line with the Trust's clinical governance arrangements which are designed to ensure that agreed quality standards are achieved. These requirements include:-AUDIT - To undertake audit of clinical practice within the department to ensure that current standards and evidence based practice are applied.CONTINUOUS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT - All Specialty Doctors are required to maintain and develop their skills. Individual training and development needs will be identified through an annual appraisal process, incorporating a personal development plan, taking into account Royal College requirements.RISK MANAGEMENT - To work within the Trust's clinical risk management policies and in particular participate as appropriate in clinical incident reporting.REVALIDATION - This is an essential requirement for all Doctors as requested by the GMC.
