Consultant Interventional Cardiologist (10 PA)

The Norfolk and Norwich University NHS Foundation Trust (NNUH) and the JamesPaget University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (JPUH) are seeking to appoint a substantive Consultant Interventional Cardiologist to support the provision of interventional cardiology services to a large catchment population, including on-call for primary PCI.
Main duties of the job
You will be joining seven existing interventional consultants. We have recently expanded to five cath labs and a programme of refurbishment is currently underway.
The appointee will be expected to contribute to the delivery of elective and emergency PCI services, including cardiology on-call at NNUH (1:8 primary PCI on call rota). The post holder will spend two days at JPUH providing outpatient clinics, undertaking ward rounds on the Acute Cardiology Unit and supporting the investigational cardiology department
About us
We serve a population of approximately 1m, with an estimated 10,000 patients with heart failure. We are passionate about improving the care of patients with heart failure in collaboration with community partners. We are particularly interested in developing pathways to avoid heart failure admissions, reduce length of stay and work across traditional boundaries between the hospital and community.
NNUH is a 1,200 bedded multidisciplinary teaching hospital with the full range of medical, surgical, obstetric and diagnostic services on site including 24/7 interventional radiology and thoracic surgical cover. The cardiology department includes 24 consultants with specialist interests including coronary disease and intervention, cardiac rhythm management, cardiac imaging, valve disease, heart failure and inherited cardiac conditions (ICC). Four academic consultants have joint appointments with the University of East Anglia Medical School
