Job summary

The Transformation Directorate has a vital role in the delivery of NNUH's ambition to deliver outstanding care and support in the delivery of the Trust's strategic ambition and financial strategy and initiatives.

The Transformation Team works across the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and is responsible for the discovery, design, and delivery of complex transformation initiatives, ensuring that all benefits are clearly defined and mapped and that quality impacts are considered, documented and monitored. The Transformation Team has a vital role in the delivery of NNUH's ambition to deliver outstanding care and support and support the delivery of Trust's strategic ambitions over the next 5 years, including the delivery of financial savings targets.

The Transformation team aspires to become a Centre of Excellence in supporting the development and delivery of the sustainable financial and clinical quality complex transformational improvements.

Main duties of the job

The Transformation Programme Manager role is a full-time position, accountable to the Senior Transformation Manager in support of the delivery of the Trust's strategic priorities and contribute to the development and delivery of the Trust's transformation portfolio.

The role is expected to provide strategic leadership in translating corporate, financial and related divisional strategies into tangible and sustainable change.

The primary objective of the role is to manage a range of Transformation programmes and projects across NNUH and wider health and social care system. This will include designing and delivering programmes and projects in accordance with NNUH and wider system and alliance strategies. The role will be based mainly at the NNUH with some travel required to other sites.

Working, either as an integral member of a divisional management team and/or corporately, you will proactively identify opportunities for further change initiatives which will result in better patient outcomes and contribute to the development of the transformation portfolio including the Trust's financial strategy.

You will have experience in complex programme and project management, with proven experience of overseeing the delivery of sustainable change and tangible delivery of benefits.

You will be expected to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships with other staff members characterised by trust, mutual respect, and open, honest communication.

  • Educated to Masters level with a degree or significant equivalent level of experience and competency in delivering whole system change/ transformation programmes o complex projects in a multi-agency environment
  • Managing successful programmes, Project management qualification, e.g. Prince 2, Practitioner qualification or similar recognised project delivery methodology

Experience

  • Driving substantial programme and or complex project management experience including management/leadership experience
  • Preparation of detailed programme blueprints, structure, plans and milestones, including developing appropriate projects to deliver to agreed objectives
  • Coaching and steering staff and managers in programme/change and project management processes
  • Demonstrable experience of benefits development and management including tracking and monitoring of financial benefits.
  • Experience of leading and directing a multi-disciplinary team to deliver successfully against objectives
  • Experience of working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders with diverse agendas, at all levels
