Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a conscientious, enthusiastic, highly motivated and organised Waiting List Coordinator based at Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital.
Urology is a busy and innovative specialty which treats problems of the urinary system and the genitourinary tract. Our Urologists diagnose and treat disorders of the kidneys, ureters, bladders, and prostate.
You will be working alongside 3 Consultant Urologist's and Specialist Nurses. This is an emergency service and requires the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. Part of this role will also include working with the continence team and managing their outpatient waiting lists.
Main duties of the job
You will be expected to facilitate the management of Day Case Waiting Lists ensuring that the lists available are fully utilised.
Maintain elective waiting lists, ensuring that Trust waiting time targets are achieved.
Plan theatre lists and liaise with Specialist Nurses to ensure that the mix of patients and procedures is acceptable.
Ensure patients are informed in a timely manner of any cancellations or changes to planned attendance/admission times/appointments.
As these lists are subject to change according to clinical priority, this may involve cancellation and re-arrangement of dates and direct contact with patients to impart this news.
You will have good communication skills are essential to this post and be able to work independently.
