Job summary

The Emergency Department at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital is looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Ultrasound based Junior Clinical Fellow within the Emergency Department. The term is initially for a 12-month period but can be extended if mutually agreed and the position involves working a shift pattern.

This post will provide the opportunity for the candidate to train in Emergency Ultrasound, including Paediatric Emergency Ultrasound. Thecandidate will have 80% time working in ED and 20% Ultrasound. The candidate will be expected to engage in continuing professional development, teaching, audit, and administrative duties.

Applicants must have full GMC registration with a license to practice and shall have completed a two year foundation program or equivalent.

Main duties of the job

Within EDo Maintain professional responsibility for patients coming to the ED by provision of safe, timely, high quality care to patientso Keep patients (and/or their carers if appropriate) informed about their condition and involve them in any decision-making about their treatmento Undertake different roles within the department as requiredo Be responsible for the keeping of records and the provision of reports, the proper delegation of tasks and maintaining skills and knowledge.o Participate in teaching programs within the departmento Maintain professional standards and comply in particular with the GMC's guidance on 'Good Medical Practice' as amended or substituted from time to timeClinical Governanceo Be proactive in the Clinical Governance agenda for the department. This includes participation in audit and quality improvement projects,guidelines/pathways, professional development, appraisal and risk management as well as attending Clinical Governance meetingsPersonal Developmento Maintain the Trusts PRIDE Valueso Participate in Continuing Professional Development and appraisalo To undergo regular revalidation as set out by the GMC
