Job summary

A formal affiliation agreement between St. George's University (Grenada) and Norfolk & Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust exists for the purpose of establishing a clinical training program for the University's third & fourth year medical students. The hospital and its staff supervise the educational program and evaluate and report on each student's progress during their clinical attachment. Within the bounds of our own teaching programmes, we adhere to the precepts and standards of the University teaching program as outlined and detailed in the latest edition of the Clinical Training Manual.

SGU appointed Mr Milind Kulkarni as Director of Medical Education (DME). He is responsible for all SGU student programmes and is in liaison with the School of Medicine. The principle role of the faculty is to supervise the clinical program and ensure its quality and its conformity with the University's guidelines as described in the Clinical Training Manual and the Faculty Handbook. Numerous members of staff play an active role in the teaching of SGU students; many also have clinical faculty appointments. This group of clinical teachers gives orientations, lectures and conferences. They conduct rounds, teach clinical and manual skills, give mid-core evaluations and end-of-clerkship oral examinations, keep students' records and help formulate students' final grades.
