Job summary
The NNUH procurement team consists of about a dozen procurement professionals and is a big part of the wider Norfolk and Waveney ICS procurement collaboration. This collaboration is advanced with many procurement decisions made at an ICS level to benefit all.
Key responsibilities include managing supply issues, assisting in achieving cash releasing savings based on standardardisation and product choice, and ensuring appropriate contractual cover for products and services. Currently there are no clinical skills within the any of the Norfolk and Waveney procurement teams, therefore this role will be at the forefront of the clinical decision making.
Main duties of the job
This is a new role for NNUH, and therefore an exciting opportunity for the post holder to help develop the relationships with stakeholders.
You will be:
Work collaboratively with Divisional Management teams, Finance Business Partners and key stakeholders to deliver appropriate contracting strategies to influence choice, product standardisation, prioritise change, deliver cash releasing savings and process improvements with sustained added value methodologies.
Lead on clinical product supply issues impacting the Trust, communicating issues to relevant clinical colleagues, assisting the identification of suitable alternatives where possible, discussing alternative clinical practices to minimise the impact of a supply issue, and planning for longer term mitigations.
Leading within the Trust and ICS in clinical product standardisation, and evaluation of savings opportunities derived from clinical product switches
Actively participate in collaborative initiatives at either local, regional or national level in particular directly managing the workplan for Norfolk and Waveney Clinical Product Evaluation Group (CPEG)
Maintaining personal clinical registration and accreditation
Full time 37.5 hours per week
