The Cellular Pathology Clinical Business Unit (CBU) comprises Histopathology, Cytopathology and Mortuary & Bereavement Services.
Histopathology and Cytopathology are based at the Cotman Centre on the Norwich Research Park, close to the NNUH and Bereavement Services and the Mortuary are on the hospital main site. The department serves the NNUH, Norwich, the James Paget University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Great Yarmouth and surrounding associated community health centres and general practitioners. The NNUH Cytology department has recently been chosen to be the provider of HPV primary testing for the East of England.
Main duties of the job

The Cellular Pathology department is looking for a highly motivated professional to join our management team as the Service Operational Manager. Having a background in Cellular Pathology would be a useful not an essential part of the role.
The Service Operational Manager, Cellular Pathology, will work closely with the cellular pathology management team to ensure delivery of a high quality, effective and efficient Cellular Pathology service. They will lead on the delivery of operational performance targets, financial balance and the development and transformation of services in line with best practice standards. These transformations will include the change to a fully digital Histopathology service.
Other key tasks of the post will include the development of strategic and operational plans, in line with the requirements of the Trust and Chief of Service. Collation of departmental key performance indicators, writing of business cases as and when required of the department, and assistance with delivery of projects in conjunction with the Senior Cellular Pathology Managers.
The post holder will work closely with the Divisional Triumvirate, Clinical Business Unit leadership teams and Divisional Business Partners to achieve the Division's service objectives and will be expected to make a positive contribution to the delivery of services Trust wide.

- To ensure that there is appropriate interface with stakeholders and with Primary Care organisations and specialist commissioners.
- To contribute to the translation of Strategy and Corporate objectives into robust operational and financial plans as part of the overall divisional annual planning process.
