3-Acute EPR Technical Project Manager

Information:

This job is now closed

Job summary

12 month fixed term contract/ secondment opportunity

The three acute hospitals in Norfolk and Waveney, The James Paget University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn Foundation Trust, we are starting one of the biggest pieces of digital transformation work we've ever undertaken - moving from paper-based patient records to electronic ones. The Electronic Patient Record (EPR) programme is currently at the beginning of a journey to transform how information about patients' health and care is stored, viewed, and used within our acute hospitals. The EPR will use cutting edge technology to create a new digital system where staff will be able to access patient health and care information quickly and securely, meaning they experience quicker and better care.

By bringing all IT and patient record systems together, we can provide better joined-up care wherever patients are treated. The EPR will drive improved standards of services at our acute hospitals. With secure, immediate access to live data, the new system will give clinical staff more time to deliver higher quality, and safer care. For patients, this will mean they don't have to remember their medical history or repeat the same information to different members of staff, making their care journey more joined-up.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an experienced NHS Project Manager who will work with the EPR leadership team and across the three Norfolk and Waveney acute hospitals in the development and implementation of the integrated EPR system. They will work with technical, operational, and clinical leads from across the Trusts, to enable the safe and effective implementation of the technical aspects of the programme. This role is being offered on an initial 1-year FTC/Secondment with the aim to extend for an additional 12 months.

The EPR programme is divided into five major workstreams, comprising of the Clinical Design Authority, Transformation and Adoption, Commercial and Financial, Technical, and Data and Analytics.

The Technical workstream is focusing on ensuring that the technical environments are EPR-ready, with this workstream being sub-divided into seven sub-projects comprising of systems landscape, service management, infrastructure, devices, interfaces, access and control, and IG and security.

The role of the 3-Acute EPR Technical Project Manager is to provide the governance, structure, process, and critical challenge for these projects and to report on progress, key issues, and risks to enable key decisions and actions to be taken in a timely manner.

If you are considering applying for this post on a secondment basis, please discuss with your Line Manager prior to applying to ascertain whether this could be supported.

Interview date: 12th June 2023
