Due to an increase in funding we are pleased to offer an exciting new post leading the Neonatal dietetic team, based at the NNUH. The unit is a specialist regional centre, providing level 3, neonatal, surgical, medical intensive care. The unit care for more than 850 babies a year, with a variety of medical conditions. This post will be integral to the design and development of this growing team and delivery of both inpatient and outpatient neonatal services
The department has close links with the University of East Anglia for research and training and with the medical school, and provides placements for student dietitians from Hertfordshire, Coventry and the UEA.

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be responsible for a varied clinical caseload and will be expected to have a high level of clinical skill. They will responsible for the nutritional management of:
- Nine Intensive Care cots,
- Six High Dependency cots,
- Fourteen Special Care cots,
- Five Transitional Care cots.
As the lead Neonatal Dietitian and an expert in your field, you will also work closely with the East of England Neonatal Network lead. It would be expected that you would provide support for the other neonatal dietitians, including those at the local district general hospitals, in addition to developing of pathways and guidelines.
The successful candidate will have skills and experience in the nutritional assessment, management, and discharge planning of this varied and specialist caseload, including Neonatal PN. They will work closely within the Neonatal MDT colleagues including Neonatologists, Surgeons, Nursing, Outreach teams and wider allied health professionals to provide a collaborative, family centred approach.
On an ongoing basis your responsibilities will include:

- Mentoring & Line management of junior colleagues
- Involvement or leading projects to support departmental improvement

About us
The successful candidate will join our department of 33 dietitians and work within a supportive team of 14 paediatric dietitians and 2 dietetic assistants within a large teaching hospital. The paediatric team covers a range of specialities including diabetes, cystic fibrosis, home enteral feeds, metabolic, allergy, cardiology, level 3 surgical NICU, oncology, gastroenterology and weight management. The team also provides care to one paediatric ward, a day ward and the children's assessment unit.
