Apprenticeship Eligibility Criteria:
All applicants must be:
Aged 16+
- Resident in the UK/EEA for the last three consecutive years
- Must not have a qualification in a similar subject at the same level or above
- Must not be in any form of formal government-funded education upon the start of their apprenticeship
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Good general standard of education
- 4 GCSE's at Grade D/3 or above (or equivalent) subject to the job specification
- Good standard of literacy and numeracy
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good IT skills
You will be enrolled with a local education provider and will be required to complete your Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship Standard qualification within the duration of the placement
Full-Time 37.5 Hours Per Week

Main duties of the job
As an Apprentice Midwifery Care Assistant, you will work with all members of the multidisciplinary team to contribute to the provision of the highest standards of patient care. You will provide care to our patients who are attending appointments within our Antenatal Clinic. With support from your line manager and the wider Midwifery team, you will complete departmental competency training, to learn the necessary skills for the role - including documentation, patient care, supporting parents with maintaining the baby's hygiene, cleaning and checking of beds and cots. You will play a key role in the care of babies and support of the parents; you will be a valued member of the team in this rewarding specialty where no day is the same!
The Antenatal Clinic is fast paced and demanding, this post is perfect for someone who is able to work under pressure, and thrives in a busy environment.
