We are looking to recruit a Sister/Charge Nurse to take the lead of our Endoscopy Unit as we continue to provide excellent patient care.
The Endoscopy Unit at NNUH operates Monday to Friday 8am-6pm; the post holder will be expected to support the on-call service and be part of the clinical numbers when needed (2-3 times per month) but you will not be expected to work nights/weekends or bank holidays as part of your standard week.
Our state of the art Quadram Institute was the result of a huge investment into our Endoscopy services, meaning we can now carry out 40,000 procedures each year, making NNUH home to the largest Endoscopy Unit in Europe. The Unit is responsible for diagnosing and treating patients with a range of upper and lower Gastrointestinal problems. Our Endoscopy service comprises a mixture of lists, including therapeutic, diagnostic, inpatient and emergency on-call, taking place across our 13 room capacity between the main NNUH site and Quadram Institute.

Main duties of the job
The Sister/Charge Nurse plays a pivotal role in managing of the Endoscopy service. You will support and work alongside a Nursing team of around 100 staff, including the lead Nurse, Nurse Endoscopists, Clinical Educators, Assistant Practitioners and Health Care Assistants, as well as the wider multidisciplinary teams.
You will be expected to work alongside the Endoscopy leadership team to maintain JAG (Joint Advisory Group) compliance and input with accreditation when necessary. You will be required to give support and advice where necessary to the Endoscopy Academy of which the NNUH is the host hospital for the region.
NNUH is also a centre for the National Bowel Cancer Screening Programmes and we are a centre of excellence for Endoscopy training, offering approved courses for doctors and nurses.
This position is for full time hours - 37.5 hours per week, however part time/flexible working can be discussed.
