Consultant in Anaesthetics (Trauma and Orthopaedics)
Applications are invited for the consultant post in the department of Anaesthetics. This is a full time post. The post is a General Consultant in Anaesthesics (Trauma and Orthopaedics.
Main duties of the job
The appointment is to the Trust, not to specific hospitals.
The appointee will take his/her share of clinical responsibilities within the Department of anaesthesia. This will include provision for peri-operative assessment.
In addition to duties within subspeciality, the appointee will be required to provide anaesthesia for adult patients in all specialties as appropriate to his/her training and experience.
There is an on-call commitment of approximately 1:20 basis, providing cover for emergency, thoracic and vascular emergencies. Separate on-call rotas exists for paediatric anaesthesia, weekend orthopaedic trauma, intensive care medicine and obstetric anaesthesia. In addition the appointee will cover a shoulder shift (18:30 to 20:00) in emergency theatres approximately once in every 4 weeks.

The trust will be commemorating 250 years of a hospital in Norwich in 2022.
- Cromer and District Hospital is located in Cromer on the North Norfolk coast and serves the North Norfolk population. It was redeveloped in 2012 to replace the 1930s-founded hospital. We provide a wide range of consultant-led outpatient services, day case operations and a Minor Injuries Unit (MIU). The trust is commemorating 150 years of a hospital in Cromer in 2017/18.
