Our Critical Care Research team are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and organised individual with critical care experience to join our expanding Critical Care Research service and to assist in the delivery of safe research within our specialised area.
This research post specialises in trials for critically ill patients and covers the entire Critical Care Complex at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. We have a large range of research trials already underway and there are exciting new projects in development as we expand our service.
You will have a key role working closely with critical care patients, their relatives, and all members of the MDT, while you develop your competencies, understanding and a growing independence working in a Critical Care Research role.

Full time: 37.5 hours per week. Part time job share maybe considered. Monday - Friday. Occasional weekend work may be required.

Main duties of the job
The Critical Care Complex provides care to patients requiring level 2 and level 3 support from a variety of specialties; post-operative care for major surgeries, organ support for both Medical and Surgical patients and emergencies via the Emergency Department.
As post holder, you will:
- work collaboratively with the Critical Care team and wider multi-disciplinary team, assisting in the management of clinical research trials. A good working knowledge of a critical care environment is essential, alongside relevant clinical skills and competencies including phlebotomy, ECG and administration of IV infusions.
- be responsible for assessing and managing the research care pathway for patients participating in clinical trials. This will include, recruitment, education and monitoring of trial patients within the Critical Care Complex, discussions with relatives and the collection and documentation of accurate data.
- support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, all staff are expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work and consistently demonstrate the NNUH's 'PRIDE' values of People focused, Respect, Dedication, Integrity and Excellence.
