Job summary
This is a great opportunity to join a team of Diabetes Specialist Nurses covering 3 teams within the trust.
The teams currently work with new technology within diabetes, and these are exciting times for all our patient groups. We currently teach Dafne in groups and also initiate insulin pumps for people who need them.
The post holder will be required following appropriate training to cover inpatient services, outpatient services and community clinics including our specialist outreach clinics.
The post will involve education to patients and their carers and or family members and helping them to manage their diabetes on a daily basis.
The post will cover Diabetes management and education provided to our inpatient, outpatient and community patients who are registered with us or who have diabetes and need to stay in the hospital.
The service provided by the Diabetes Specialist Nurse team will cover 3 teams as above and also cover specialties within these roles such as insulin pumps, pregnancy and our young adult patients.
A flexible approach will be welcomed and may involve some later clinic cover or weekends which can be discussed at interview.

Main duties of the job
To function as a full member of the healthcare team participating in the treatment, education and support of people with diabetes and their family in order to improve the standard of care and to help the person to live a full and normal life.
To support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, all staff are expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work and consistently demonstrate NNUH's 'PRIDE' values of People focused, Respect, Dedication, Integrity and Excellence.
- Training will be provided with access to UEA Diabetes course.
- Encouraged to be a non-medical prescriber with training available
