Job summary
We are looking for registered nurses who want to enhance their surgical skills and knowledge to join our Docking Ward team. Docking Ward is a fast paced emergency surgical admission ward which covers an exciting range of specialties including: thoracic surgery, upper GI surgery, vascular surgery and general surgery. We are a welcoming and supportive team committed to providing the highest standards of care to patients on the ward. Docking Ward provides an excellent insight into some of the most skilled and challenging surgeries in the division and is a fantastic learning environment for anyone looking to gain new skills.
Full and part time hours available. These posts do include evening, night and weekend working. Docking Ward uses self-rostering.

Main duties of the job

As post holder you will provide safe and expert care for all patients throughout their entire surgical journey. This will include personal care, nutritional management, medication management, complex pain management, complex wound care, complex drain management.
You will work with all members of the Ward/Department clinical team within the multi-disciplinary framework. You will maintain a high standard of patient care under the direction of the Ward/Department Sister/Charge Nurse.
