Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital are delighted to announce that we are looking to appoint two Rheumatology Consultants, one full time and the other part time (7.5 PAs) with the opportunity to discuss other potential PAs if required
By joining our Rheumatology team, you will be part of an established department. Within the department we have specialist interests including AxSpA and vasculitis (NHSEspecialist centre status). A specialist interest is required and an interest in connective tissue disease, vasculitis, and/or adolescent transition services are encouraged to complement the existing strengths in the department.
There are a number of ongoingclinical trials especially within the field of spondyloarthritis and other research strengths include musculoskeletal epidemiology with strong links with the UEA (NOAR) and Manchester (ARUK Centre of Excellence). The department actively contributes to the education of undergraduate students at the Norwich Medical School and we encourage opportunities to contribute to lectures, and clinical teaching.
Main duties of the job
The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital is an NHSE recognised specialist centre for vasculitis and connected tissue disorders. Vascular ultrasound in the detection of giant cell arteritis (GCA) is offered within the department.
The department is further supported by our Rheumatology Day Unit where we have full facilities and ample space for infusions. We have strong nursing teams to support DMARD and biologic patients and awell established nursing team to support escalation of therapy in early inflammatory arthritis.
The team consists of 9 existing consultants, 3 SpRs, 2 Internal Medicine trainees and 2 GP trainees who help deliver care to Rheumatology in patients and patients
