Job summary
This job description is for a 10PA substantive Consultant clinical or medical oncologist with an interest in urological cancers (with a special interest in Renal malignancies) and Melanoma. The post is based at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (NNUH).
This post is substantive and is designed as a new post with a view to expansion in the consultant workforce. Candidates should have a primary interest in Urological cancers and Melanoma although other secondary interests may be accommodated. The post holder will be joining a team of five clinical oncologists in the Urology team and one medical Oncologist and one clinical oncologist in the melanoma team

Main duties of the job
The post holder will principally be part of the Urology and Skin (or other as agreed) MDT, a with responsibility for delivering treatment at NNUH.
Due to expertise within the department allowing for flexibility and internal reorganization applicants with an interest in other tumor sites are also strongly encouraged to apply. The appointee would be expected to see approximately 250 new patients annually and to participate in a 1:14 on call rota.
The appointee will undertake new patient and follow up clinics, managing his/her own clinical workload within a team setting. The appointee would attend and actively participate in the relevant tumor site MDT meetings.

Chemotherapy is provided in purpose built units in Norwich, Great Yarmouth and Cromer, whilst an exciting opportunity has enabled us to commission the use of a Mobile Chemotherapy Care Unit which will provide chemotherapy to patients closer to home. We are extremely proud of the strength of our Radiotherapy service with IMRT and IGRT as standard in many tumour sites and state-of-the-art equipment. The clinical and Medical oncologists work closely as a team to deliver multi-modality holistic care to the patients.
