TheNorfolk and Norwich UniversityHospital is looking for Receptionist/Ward Clerks to join our busy hospital across the surgical ward teams and Outpatient Departments. Our vision is to provide the best care for every patient, and we are recruiting Receptionist/Ward Clerks across the Division who share this.
We are looking for dynamic and enthusiastic Receptionist/Ward Clerks who have a genuine passion for working with patients in our acute care specialities and can support our PRIDE values.You don't need any healthcare experienceto join us as Receptionist/Ward Clerk as this role is the perfect entry point into the NHS.
As a Receptionist/Ward Clerk you will support your team by providing high quality administrative support service to the Wards and Outpatients Departments and as such, will need to be able to communicate well with patients and their relatives, the public and a wide range of multi-professional staff, internal and external to the Trust.
We are passionate about staff development and will support you in your Admin & Clerical career at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. We offer multiple training courses to help develop your skills and progress within the organisation.
Main duties of the job
Receptionists / Ward Clerks carry out many administrative duties to support patients in their pathway. You will be working in a fast-paced environment where communication is vital - nowhere else will a compassionate nature have such an impact. What matters most in this role is that you have a passion for helping others and enjoy working as part of a dedicated and passionate team.
The kind of duties you can expect to be involved in:
- Input of patient information onto the Patient Administration System (PAS)
- Obtain and prepare notes in readiness for clinics, investigations or at the request of staff within the department.
- Be a point of contact for patients and external / internal staff in person or via the telephone.
- Booking of clinic appointments
