Job summary
We are recruiting for a Communications Officer to work full time, 37.5 hours per week.
Band 6, £35,392 - £42,618 per annum.
You will play a key role in the Communications and Engagement function at North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust.
Working with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility, reporting to the Associate Director of Communications, you will be responsible for key aspects of the 3-year Communications and Engagement Delivery Plan 2024-2027 arising from the trust's Strategic Review of Communications and Engagement.
The team you will be part of delivers industry-standard communications and engagement, digital and video production entirely in-house - including film and video, in-house digital broadcasting and hybrid events, animation, virtual reality, live streaming and podcasting.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as part of an integrated team, line managed by the Communications Manager, responsible for implementing key aspects of the Trust's 3-year Communications Delivery Plan as well as having responsibility for key day-to-day operational communications and engagement.

Responsible for writing/editing and producing key Trust public documents and regular staff and members newsletters and briefings.
Produce literature in keeping with the Trusts brand to promote specific service developments for a range of stakeholders/customers.
Implement improved creative design briefing and amends/job tracking process and produce in-house suite of template designs for use across Trust.
Design, produce and update as required a Trust Staff Handbook, using content provided and owned by the relevant Trust business areas
Support Communications Manager on internal and external events organising and planning ( e.g. Annual General Meeting, VIP visits, exhibitions, public meetings).
Manage the CAT Intranet and public website.
Produce comms 'manual', editorial and brand guidelines and team profile - who does what, all hosted on single location on CAT intranet.
Produce awareness days toolkit for staff to aid staff to promote their own activities.
Manage events planner on CAT Intranet and underlying business process for teams to plan events so there are no unforeseen duplications.
Complete, proof and publish all 'core' fields and select 'additional' fields on all Trust Service web pages, including promotion.
Increase the number of key external awards supported by proofreading and Comms' role in Standard Operating Procedure by 10% each year of the three year plan.
Lead on producing Exec Exchange and associated presentations on a monthly basis.
Increase proactive national brand/reputation opportunities through external comms profile by 17% annually for each year of three year plan.
Introduce and manage content-triggered communications via Campaign Monitor.
Provide communications and engagement advice to Trust staff including media, corporate identity, reputation management and best practice.
Ensure that corporate information is kept up to date on all relevant channels.
Attend meetings as required by the Communications Manager.
Act as a resource for staff on all communications and engagement issues.
