Are you a Clinical Psychologist with experience of working with neurodiverse children and young people? We have an excellent opportunity for a Preceptorship Band 7 Clinical Psychologist post progressing to a Band 8a.

This is a varied Clinical Psychology role; conducting diagnostic assessments and providing post-diagnostic support to children, young people and their families. This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding multidisciplinary team, working in a CQC Outstanding rated Trust.

The post holder would join our friendly multi-disciplinary team and work with our School Age Autism Spectrum Disorder Service, with close links with the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service teams. The main aspects of the role include conducting specialist autism assessments, diagnosis and formulation in collaboration with the MDT and our service users and, planning and facilitating post-diagnosis support. The post holder would offer support to junior colleagues including assistant and Trainee psychologists with a view to developing supervision skills.

We offer excellent clinical supervision and support. There are a wide range of CPD opportunities available. The post will involve a combination of face to face and remote working.

Main duties of the job

Accountable for own professional practice in the delivery of specialist psychological care to clients with Autism and mental health conditions or learning disabilities which may include challenging behaviours.

To be compassionate in meeting the needs of clients, their carers and families.

To provide advice, guidance and clinical supervision to less experienced colleagues within the designated psychology service and to other members of the multidisciplinary team.

To undertake formal research as an integral part of the job.

To be pro-active in continual service improvement within own area.
